This is a picture of my dad's family taken in 1954 at his parents home on Lick Creek Road near the dyke bridge in Big Sandy.

The names are as follows from left to right:

Clara May Christopher Smith, oldest
Jessie Lee Christopher, father
Albert Lee Christopher, fourth child
Nancy Ann (Annie) Hutchison Christopher, mother
James Verlie Christopher, second child
Mary Elizabeth Christopher Perry, third child
Jessie Faye Christopher Hastings, youngest of the children

Mary Christopher Perry Age 12, Albert Christopher Age 7. This picture was taken in 1928 at Odom School located in Big Sandy. Mary passed away at age 86 in October of 2001. Albert lives in the Big Sandy Harbortown area. He remembers going to Sunday School and church at the Mount Zion Church in the old 23rd district. He is the 4th child of five born to Jessie Lee and Annie (Hutchison) Christopher. He worked as a child for the Wilson Brothers Grocery in Big Sandy. In 1937 he worked for the WPA excavating the indian graves on the Tennessee River as far south as Eva. He joined the Civil Conservation Corp (CCC's) in 1939. He relocated to Detroit to seek employment in 1940 and was working there when Pearl Harbor was attacked. He came back home to Big Sandy and was drafted in Tennessee into the Army and served 3 1/2 years. He married Bertha Faye Pierce (from Big Sandy) in December 1941 and was discharged in 1945. They relocated again to find work in Memphis, TN and he raised his family there. Bertha Faye died in 1981 and he came back home to Big Sandy in 1988 after his retirement.
